Swamp Thing Premieres On Warner TV Malaysia Next Month

The Swamp Thing TV series originally debuted in May 2019, before concluding its 10-episode first season and getting prematurely cancelled by the DC Universe streaming service.

After the CW network acquired the broadcasting rights to Swamp Thing, the horror drama TV series based on the iconic DC Comics character of the same name will soon premiere on Warner TV (Astro Channel 712 HD / UnifiTV Channel 451) on Wednesday, 7 October at 9.50pm.

A new episode airs every Wednesday at the same time.

Swamp Thing follows Dr Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed) as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but when a mysterious creature emerges from the murky marsh, she finds herself facing the nightmares of a supernatural world where no one is safe.

Something unnatural is happening in the swamps outside Marais, Louisiana. When a mysterious illness strikes the town, CDC investigator and former Marais native, Abby Arcane is sent to investigate. At the hospital, she encounters biologist Alec Holland (Andy Bean) who believes the bizarre illness might be connected to his scientific work in the swamp for powerful businessman Avery Sunderland (Will Patton).

The TV series also stars Jennifer Beals as Sheriff Lucilia Cable, Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu, Kevin Durand as brilliant bio-geneticist Jason Woodrue, and Ian Ziering as Dan Cassidy/Blue Devil.

It’s a shame that Swamp Thing was cancelled after just one season. It’s unique horror and mystic elements distinguish it from other comic book adaptations out there. We’ll probably never see another show like it in the near future, so let’s all savour what we already have.

Maybe Swamp Thing will find new life on CW and Warner TV? Fingers crossed.
