Apple Throws Shade At Fortnite & Epic With iPhone 12 Reveal

Apple just revealed its upcoming new phone-slash-mobile-gaming-device, the iPhone 12, during its Apple Event online conference. And no, these smartphones aren’t getting any cheaper: the iPhone 12 costs US$799+ while the iPhone 12 mini costs US$699.

That’s not all; Riot Games’ League of Legends: Wild Rift will be heading to iPhones exclusively, but not before throwing a direct diss at Epic Games and Fortnite with this intro (via CNET highlights):

Details on the phone are as follows:

  • Super Retina XDR display (2x pixels as 11),
  • Aluminium frame & Ceramic Shield (toughest glass, 4x the chance of surviving without cracking),
  • Most 5G bands,
  • Smart Data Mode; auto-switches to normal speeds if you don’t need 5G
  • A14 Bionic.

The phone also comes in 5 colours and is lighter, thinner, smaller than past iPhones.

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s even a Pro version that retails for US$999, as well as a Pro Max version retailing for US$1,099.

At least they’re still be selling the iPhone SE and X models, which should be slightly cheaper if you absolutely need an iOS device. The iPhone 12 and all of its super-expensive models are out now in US stores; no word on whether it’s available now in Malaysia, Singapore, or anywhere else in Southeast Asia.
