Batman The Long Halloween Part Two Trailer Looks Even Darker
By Alleef Ashaari|May 19, 2021|0 Comment
Originally announced in 2020, Batman The Long Halloween Part Two has received an official trailer. Part One is slated to premiere on 22 June 2021, while Part Two will premiere sometime in fall 2021. What’s interesting is that Part One is rated PG-13 while Part Two is rated R.
For those unfamiliar with the source material, Batman The Long Halloween is a 13-issue comics story arc from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale that was first published in 1996, which chronicles an early period in Batman’s crime-fighting career that sees him on the trail of the Holiday Killer, a serial murderer who claims a new victim on each major holiday.
It was iconic for having Batman, James Gordon and Harvey Dent (before he became Two-Face) going up against some of the Dark Knight’s best villains, including the Joker, the Riddler, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, and more.
The synopsis for Batman The Long Halloween Part Two reads:
Inspired by the iconic mid-1990s DC story from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Batman The Long Halloween Part Two continues as the Holiday Killer is still at large and, with Bruce Wayne under the spell of the venomous Poison Ivy, Batman is nowhere to be found.
Liberated by an unlikely ally, Bruce quickly uncovers the real culprit: Poison Ivy’s employer Carmine Falcone.
The Roman, his ranks decimated by Holiday and his business spinning out of control, has been forced to bring on less desirable partners – Gotham City’s rogues’ gallery.
In the meantime, Harvey Dent is confronting battles on two fronts: attempting to end the mob war while also dealing with a strained marriage.
And, after an attack that leaves Harvey hideously disfigured, the District Attorney unleashes the duality of his psyche that he’s strived his entire life to suppress.
Now, as Two-Face, Dent decides to take the law into his own hands and deliver judgment to those who’ve wronged him, his family and all of Gotham.
Ultimately, the Dark Knight must put together the tragic pieces that converged to create Two-Face, the Holiday Killer, Batman and Gotham City itself.
Here’s the full voice cast for Batman The Long Halloween Part One:
It’s a pretty star-studded cast, with Supernatural star Jensen Ackles as Batman and the late Naya Rivera as Catwoman, not to mention Troy Baker reprising his role as the Joker.
Part Two will also feature several new additions to the voice cast. These newcomers include Robin Atkin Downes as both Scarecrow and Thomas Wayne, John DiMaggio as the Mad Hatter, Laila Berzins as Sofia Falcone, Jim Pirri as Sal Maroni and Zach Callison as Young Bruce Wayne.
The animated movie is directed by Chris Palmer, who also directed 2020’s Superman Man Of Tomorrow animated movie. It begs the question; are they both in the same universe? We’ll find out later this year.
