Live-Action Powerpuff Girls Show To Be Reworked After Alleged “Campy” Pilot Script Leaks
It seems that the live-action Powerpuff Girls TV series will be reworked after its alleged pilot script has revealed to contain a bit of Chemical XXX.
A day after the leak (via Deadline), the CW has confirmed that the live-action adaptation of the Craig McCracken animated series is getting a re-imagining following the failed pilot. Here are a few official words of CW CEO Mark Pedowitz about the show’s going-ons.
“The reason we do pilots is, sometimes things miss. We believe in the cast and in [writers Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier] and [executive producer Greg Berlanti] and studio Warner Bros. In this case, the pilot didn’t work.
Because we see enough elements in there, we wanted to give it another shot. It may have felt a little too campy and not rooted in reality.”
The pilot stars Chloe Bennett as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perrault as Buttercup, who will be on board the next Powerpuff iteration.

So the leaked pilot script details the following:
Pedowitz made no comment about the alleged leaked pilot script, which is clearly beyond “campy” and more “Titans” level of edginess. This could all be fake until someone leaked test footage of the pilot (ala the Wonder Woman pilot). Let’s hope so because this is the kind of edgy reboot the world isn’t ready for.
