The Final Fantasy VII Remake Honeybee Inn Scene Could Have Featured A Pole Dance Sequence…

Square Enix posted an incredibly detailed blog about how the Final Fantasy VII Remake’s infamous Honeybee Inn sequence was made, to celebrate the release of the Intergrade rerelease. According to co-director Motomu Toriyama, the dance sequence was initially going to feature a pole-dancing sequence
Yeah, we could have had a scene where Cloud gyrates onto a pole like a champ, but due to the impact it could cause to the game’s age rating, it was nixed in favour of the scene we experienced in the final product. The sequence itself had shifting dance music from composer Mitsuto Suzuki to even professional dancers who created burlesque shows and choreography. And yes, it was filmed on an elaborate set.
A lot of work was put into the elaborate sequence, including integrating a rhythm minigame into the mix. To see it in 60fps 4K is definitely a treat; you can do so in the PS5 version of the game.
