Deadpool Crosses Over Into The MCU For The First Time…

Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool finally joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his very first crossover… with Taika Waititi’s Korg?

You got us there; this isn’t actually the debut of Deadpool into the MCU properly in any movie or TV series. Instead, Reynolds reprises his role as Deadpool with Waititi’s Korg in a reaction video towards Reynold’s next movie, Free Guy. What’s funny is Taika Waititi is also a co-star of Reynolds in Free Guys, so it’s essentially a marketing ploy for the upcoming film.

In Free Guy, Ryan Reynolds stars as a bank teller who discovers he is actually an NPC (non-player character) in an open-world video game and decides to become the hero of his own story. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way, before it is too late.

Directed by Shawn Levy, the upcoming movie also stars Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi. It is produced by Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy, Sarah Schechter, Greg Berlanti and Adam Kolbrenner with Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, George Dewey, Dan Levine and Michael Riley McGrath serving as executive producers.

Free Guy is slated to premiere on 23 August 2021. In the meantime, check out the Deadpool Korg reaction video below:
