Pokémon Legends Arceus To Collaborate With K-Pop Group Itzy

The Pokémon Company has announced that they have decided to tie up with Itzy, a five-member girl group affiliated with JYP Entertainment. As a first step in the collaboration, a new commercial featuring Itzy as well as a making-of video and a TikTok video will be released on 9 February 2022 for the upcoming Pokémon Legends Arceus, which will go on sale on 28 January 2022.

This inaugural collaboration between Pokémon and Itzy will mean that the K-pop group will appear in commercials and events related to Pokémon Legends Arceus, the downloadable game Pokémon Unite and the trading card game Pokémon Card Game.

In addition, the hit song Wannabe, which has garnered over 400 million views on YouTube, has been chosen as the collaboration song.

Speaking about their favourite Pokémon, the Itzy group members said:

Leah: I used to like “Kabigon,” but I fell in love with “Eevee” during this shoot… (laughs)

Chae-ryong: My favorite Pokémon is “Eevee”! I think it’s beautiful with its sparkling eyes!
