Sailor Moon Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Sanrio & Hello Kitty Collaboration

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the hit anime and manga series Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Sanrio has announced an upcoming collaboration to doll up its Hello Kitty & other cute characters in Sailor Scout garbs.

The collaboration will feature six Sanrio mascots dressing up and posing alongside the star-eyed warriors (via Fashion Press). The pair-ups are:

• Hello Kitty x Sailor Moon
• My Melody x Sailor Chibi Moon
• Cinnamoroll x Sailor Mercury
• Kuromi x Sailor Mars
• Marroncream x Sailor Jupiter
• Pom Pom Purin x Sailor Venus

The collaboration is part of the Sailor Moon Eternal films that came out last year. Of course, Sanrio isn’t the only one with such a promotion: other companies like Uniqlo, Anna Sui, and Maison de FLEUR have limited merchandise based on the Sailor Moon brand.

Products of the collaboration will be out in Summer 2022. More information will be revealed at a later date closer to Summer.
