KOF XV Starts Out Big With 8k Peak Players

The King of Fighters XV is out now for all major platforms, and it’s doing great so far on SNK’s side.

According to Steam Charts (via Eventhubs), KOF XV has hit an all-time peak of 8,205 players. At this point in typing, the game is being played by 6,049 people for the last 24 hours. This puts KOF XV as one of the best launch SNK titles on PC so far; for comparison, KOF XIV only peaked at only 1,173 as of now.

Despite this personal windfall, SNK is still lagging behind fighting game powerhouses like Capcom and Bandai Namco. Though to be fair, Capcom’s Street Fighter 5 and Bandai Namco’s Tekken 7 have been around for more than a couple of years.

For a fair comparison, KOF XV’s 6,049 24-hour peak has beaten Tekken 7’s 5,630, which is pretty impressive for a new title. Also, new data on Steam Spy has revealed that 50,000 and 100,000 players have purchased KOF XV on Steam in only 3 days. Let’s hope SNK can keep the ball rolling in the next few weeks and months.
