This Year’s EVO Will Not Feature Super Smash Bros.
EVO 2022 is going to be a thing this 8 May for fighting game fans. However, one major fighting game will not be making an appearance.
The Evolution Championship Series organizers just announced that Super Smash Bros. will not be making a return appearance. The reason is Nintendo has chosen not to continue supporting the game for this year’s EVO tournament.

Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate have been huge draws for EVO for quite a while, so it’s rather sad that this had to happen. It’s rather fun to see Nintendo characters like Mario and Star Fox duke it out in 2D fighting game platforming glory.
