World’s Best Guitar Hero Player Caught Cheating

Schmooey was once considered the best Guitar Hero player on the planet, but not anymore. He has been exposed as a cheater. having used exploits in almost all of his videos spanning years.

In a detailed 27-minute video uploaded several days ago, YouTuber Karl Jobst explains how Schmooey has been cheating. It turns out that Schmooey has been using various techniques to cheat, including using Cheat Engine to slow down songs in Clone Hero (a PC port of Guitar Hero) and play them at an easier difficulty. He would then speed the recording back up during editing and combine that with his other footage.

Since being caught, Schmooey posted an apology video and returned all the money he earned from bounties (cash prizes community members post for anyone that can perform perfect runs for specific songs). In his apology video, he admitted: “Yes, most of the stuff I did was inauthentic.”
