I’m Not Sure I’m Vibing With This Front Mission Mobile Game Announcement

Square Enix and developer Black Jack Studio will be making a new mobile game using the Front Mission name, because the beating the publisher gave with Left Alive wasn’t enough I guess.

Front Mission 2089: Borderscape is slated for iOS and Android, with preregistration now available on the game’s official website.

No release date has been confirmed. There’s also no gameplay shown save for the concept trailer. Here’s all we got from Square Enix: a story blurb.

“12°S, 91°W.

There is a fertile island, two powerful economic federations, a group of mercenaries stuck in the eye of the conflict, and a war destined to ignite.”

At least we know there are mechas and Wanzers involved. Whether it’ll be turn-based strategy gameplay mixed with the free-to-play gacha nonsense we’ve grown accustomed to, we’ll find out later in 2022.
