Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Has A Post-Credits Tease, So Stick Around After The Movie
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is out now in cinemas outside of Southeast Asia, meaning a good chunk of people are already talking about the show’s probable post-credits scene. And it’s a doozy, so you may want to stick around when the credits roll.
Before we start talking about the scene, it’s already confirmed last month that there will be a Sonic The Hedgehog 3 movie in the works from Paramount. Here’s the official logo:

And that’s all we can say before delving deep into spoiler territory regarding the Sonic The Hedgehog 2 post-credits scene. So spoiler warning!

Many Sonic fans have predicted the following on 16th February:
Paramount just dropped the official logo for 'SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3'

And true enough, the Sonic game’s resident edgelord Shadow The Hedgehog will be the focus for Sonic The Hedgehog 3, and will likely be the main villain. The post-credits scene also references Project Shadow, which is a genetics program started by Robotnik’s grandfather that created the edgelord hedgehog who also brandishes a handgun in one of the games.

Sonic 2’s post-credits scene also reveals that Dr Robotnik is still alive. Most importantly, the Sonic cinematic universe timeline will adapt events of the Dreamcast title Sonic Adventures 2. This means a couple of things:
- There’s going to be an orchestral cover of Crush 40’s “Escape From The City” and “Live and Learn”.
- The filmmakers are going to add in Rouge the Bat (below), which is going to get the Sonic/furry fanbase all hot and bothered. We’re not judging.

On a related note, Sonic Frontiers is slated for a November 2022 release.
