Ubisoft Is Making A Fortnite-Style PvP Game Because Its Last Battle Royale Game Did So Well

Ubisoft has announced a new online game that borrows many popular titles of the generation. It’s called Project Q and it looks a tad similar to an Epic Games title.

The company has stressed that the game is not a Battle Royale title, but instead a “variety of PvP modes with one single goal in mind: FUN!”. So it’s an online PvP game.

The game is being developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, the part of Ubisoft that provided support for Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six games. Almost like Ubisoft Singapore back in the day before they took charge with Skull & Bones. Project Q has two game modes: Showdown which is a battle royale type mode with four teams of two players PvPing each other, and Battle Zone featuring two teams of four players vying control over a map. The footage below seems to indicate that it’s clearly a multiplayer battle royale game despite Ubisoft stating otherwise.

I’m sure the company will do fine with the game’s open beta and launch. After all, Hyper Scape was a huge success. Oh wait…
