Ghostbusters: Afterlife Sequel Haunts Cinemas Next Winter

It’s going to be the most wonderful time of the year for Ghostbusters fans, both young and old.

The Spengler family from Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be returning for a sequel, obviously titled Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2, on 20th December 2023, a few days before Christmas. The sequel will continue the story of said family, featuring Callie (Carrie Coon) the daughter of the late Egon Spengler, and her kids Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) and Phoebe (Mckenna Grace). The film will be directed by Jason Reitman, who directed the first Afterlife and is the son of the series’ late co-creator Ivan Reitman.

The last film features guest appearances from original cast members Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Sigourney Weaver. Taking the place of the late Harold Ramis who played Egon is a ghost CGI version of him in the show’s climax.
