King Of Fighters XV To Get Awakened Orochi Team This August

To distract us from the fact that SNK is dabbling in NFTs, the company has announced a new team in its new fighting game The King of Fighters XV. 

Or rather, a kinda-new team in the form of the Awakened Orochi team. This team consists of the “awakened” versions of Yashiro, Shermie, and Chris. Yashiro has Earth grapple powers, Shermie has lightning powers ala Benimaru, and Chris has flame powers ala Kyo. They’re also decked in their former boss Goenitz’s uniform, hence the new look. And yes, this is the most covered-up Shermie has been in her lifetime.

There’s no gameplay for the trio yet, but that should pop up closer to their release date.

On a related note, The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition is out now. It features a slew of new modes to choose from and rollback netcode.
