Apex Legends Anime-Inspired Gaiden Event Starts Next Week
By Lewis Larcombe|July 15, 2022|0 Comment
Now you can phase rush as your favourite anime character thanks to Apex Legends’ Gaiden Event.
What a time to be a weeb. With otaku culture becoming more mainstream over the past several years, Respawn Entertainment has decided to take advantage of this opportunity and introduce anime-inspired cosmetics in their Gaiden Event starting from 19 July 2022.
That’s right, in this limited-time event, running from 19 July to 2 August, you’ll be able to earn exclusive cosmetics, participate in weekly flash events and experience the return of Armed and Dangerous mode.
If you’re new to the Apex then you may not be aware of this game mode as it was first introduced with the Voidwalker event in 2019. Armed and Dangerous is a special game mode where only sniper rifles and shotguns can be equipped, and you’ll only find a few common-level body shields on the map. Loot is generally much scarcer in Armed and Dangerous, and for this event, the mode will be available on World’s Edge, Olympus, and Storm Point.
In all, there are some 40 event-limited cosmetics to earn, including new legendary skins for Revenant, Mirage, Octane, and Wattson, with complementary weapon skins for the Flatline, Wingman, EVA-8 and Charge Rifle.
If you manage to collect all 40, you’ll unlock the latest prestige skin, which is the Apex Commander skin for Bangalore. Like other prestige skins, this one has three tiers to unlock – the outfit gets more elaborate as you unlock more tiers. Once you earn the skin, though, you’ll be able to continue working on unlocking prestige tiers on it even after the Gaiden event concludes on 2 August 2022.
