Blizzard Plans For BlizzCon Return In 2023

BlizzCon has been absent for the past three years, but it looks like the event might finally be returning next year. In an interview with the LA Times, Blizzard president Mike Ybarra confirmed that they’re currently working to make BlizzCon 2023 happen.

He said:

“We previously announced we’re taking a pause on BlizzCon while we reimagine it for the future but do want to return to a live event that enables us to celebrate the community.

We recently hired a new leader of BlizzCon, April McKee, who is hard at work on that plan. We are committed to bringing back BlizzCon in 2023.”

However, keep in mind that Ybarra is only saying that they’re planning the event for 2023, but until the event is officially announced with dates and everything, BlizzCon 2023 has yet to be confirmed as of now. BlizzCon 2020, 2021, and 2022 were all cancelled because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
