Doraemon Visits Floating Cities In A New Movie Coming Next Year
By Alleef Ashaari|July 6, 2022|0 Comment
A new Doraemon movie is slated to release in Japan next year in March 2023. The official Doraemon Movie YouTube account posted the teaser trailer for the movie, which is titled Eiga Doraemon Nobita to Sora no Utopia (or Doraemon Nobita’s Sky Utopia).
The teaser trailer seemingly shows Doraemon, Nobita and his friends flying airships and aeroplanes to investigate mysterious floating cities. That’s probably where the movie’s title, Nobita’s Sky Utopia, came from.
Takumi Douyama (Doraemon episode director and storyboarder, Genbanojou director) is the director of the new Doraemon movie, while Ryouta Kosawa (Great Pretender) is the scriptwriter. The cast includes Wasabi Mizuta as Doraemon, Megumi Oohara as Nobita, Yumi Kakazu as Shizuka, Subaru Kimura as Jaian, and Tomokazu Seki as Suneo.
The original Doraemon manga ran from 1974 to 1996, while there have been multiple anime series and more than 40 movies released in the franchise. In fact, this new Doraemon movie will be the 42nd film in the long-running franchise.
In the meantime, check out the trailer below:
