Final Fantasy X Series Sales Top 20.8 Million
Here’s another milestone for the Final Fantasy 10 or Final Fantasy X series; you know, the one with Tidus, Yuna, all the death and ghosts, the Sphere system, and YuRiPa.
Square Enix announced that the game’s total worldwide shipments and digital sales have surpassed 20.8 million units as of September 2021. This includes both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 for PC and consoles. For a game that came out in the early 2000s and also has a remastered version (despite having to recreate the game due to the master copy being lost in time), that’s a helluva achievement.
On a related note, the game itself will be getting a kabuki play adaptation in Japan, with the show taking stage at the IHI Stage Around Tokyo in Spring 2023. This is to celebrate the game series’ 35th anniversary. Head here for more information.
