There Are No InFamous Or Sly Cooper Games In Development, Says Sucker Punch
So much for keeping the legacy going. Sucker Punch Productions, the makers of Ghost of Tsushima, said that there are no InFamous or Sly Cooper games in development.
The company said recently on a blog post that there are no studios working on projects related to the aforementioned franchises that put them on the map.
“As our games continue to grow in scale and complexity, they require the full attention of our studio. With our focus on our current project, we have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises either. These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we’d never say never to re-opening those doors down the road, for now there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development.”
In addition, Sucker Punch will be performing maintenance on InFamous 2’s user-generated content servers, moving them to a new home to keep them up and running a bit longer. These servers will need to sunset eventually, but will be kept active as long as there are active players. The company will also release the InFamous: Second Son DLC “Cole’s Legacy” on PlayStation Stores. Previously, the DLC was only available as part of the game’s Collector’s Edition.
It’s a shame about the news really; many fans like myself are looking forward to a next-gen version of InFamous or even a Sly Cooper title.
