Cyberpunk Edgerunners Gets Actual Release Date & NSFW Trailer

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 RPG is clearly M-rated as all heck, so it’s not surprising to see the game’s upcoming anime adaptation getting a trailer with all the mature bits.

That includes a lot of violence and sexytime that happens 24/7 in Night City. The trailer also showcases a release date: 13th September with all 10 episodes out in one-shot. I’ll have to say that this may be Studio Trigger’s most extreme anime project yet.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells the story of David Martinez, a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. In the aftermath of a personal tragedy, David decides to take control of his own destiny by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.

The acclaimed Japanese animation company Studio TRIGGER collaborated with CD Projekt RED to bring the story to life, with Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare) directing the show. Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia, BNA: Brand New Animal) is the chief character designer as well as executive animation director. Masahiko Otsuka (Star Wars: Visions “The Elder”) and Yoshiki Usa (Gridman Universe series) wrote the screenplay based on the story provided by CD Projekt RED. T??he original score is composed by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill series).
