Fate/EXTRA Record Trailer Showcases Remake’s Improved Visuals

Type-Moon Studio BB has released a new trailer for Fate/Extra Record, a remake of 2010’s Fate/Extra. This is the first new update for the game since it was first announced in 2020 at the 10th-anniversary event celebrating the original game.

The 2022 Fate/Extra Record trailer features narration from the character Twice H. Pieceman, as well as from Saber, Rin, Julius, and Rider. It showcases several well-known characters from the Fate series including Nero Claudius, Rin Tohsaka, Rani VIII, Shinji Matou, Rin Tohsaka, Leonardo B. Harwey, Cú Chulainn, Francis Drake, and Robin Hood.

The improved graphics of the environments and gameplay is shown. The trailer ends with footage of Rider Francis Drake’s Noble Phantasm, and Saber Nero summoning her Nobel Phantasm, Aestus Domus Aurea.

Fate/Extra originally debuted in 2010 on the PSP. A spin-off of Fate/Stay Night, featuring the Moon Holy Grail War, a conflict between Masters and their Servants in a virtual environment managed by Moon Cell, a supercomputer powerful enough to alter reality. It received a Japan-exclusive sequel, Fate/Extra CCC, and was later adapted into third-person action musou games Fate/Extella and Fate/Extella Link.

There is currently no release date/window or confirmed platforms for Fate/Extra Record as of yet. Hopefully, we’ll receive a localized English version as well.
