New Mortal Kombat Legends Animated Movie Focuses On Cool Blind Swordsman Kenshi

When you mention Mortal Kombat, you remember Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Johnny Cage more than other characters. While MK character Kenshi is not as popular, he is one of the bigger badasses in the MK mythos, so it’s great to know that Warner Bros. is putting the spotlight on him.

Warner Bros. has announced a new Mortal Kombat Legends animated movie subtitle Snow Blind, which is about the blind swordsman Kenshi and his older sensei Sub-Zero in a future ravaged by King Kano and Shang Tsung. The show also details how Kenshi lost his sight and how he learns to fight while wielding a special sword he found in a dark cave, as well as shed light on what timeline in the MK universe this is in.

There’s no violence or gore in the trailer below, but if it’s anything like the past films, expect the red to be cranked up to eleven. No release date has been announced yet, so at the very least go and appreciate the art style on display.

The two Mortal Kombat Legends movies, Scorpion’s Revenge and Battle of the Realms, are well-animated and feature a ton of action and gore, but it’s pretty cramped with plot developments. The latter film has too much going on and is thus an unfocused mess. Still, both of them are better than the recent live-action MK film starring some OC named Cole.
