Crystal Dynamics Now Owns Tomb Raider & Legacy Of Kain
By Lewis Larcombe|September 8, 2022|0 Comment
American games developer Crystal Dynamics have announced that they have taken control of fan favourite IPs such as Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain.
On 9 September, Crystal Dynamics published a blog post stating that they have taken control of several game franchises, naming the aforementioned specifically.
“We are excited to inform you that Crystal Dynamics has taken control of several game franchises—including TOMB RAIDER and Legacy of Kain—from the games’ previous owner, Square Enix Limited.”
This is great news for both the IPs, especially for the Legacy of Kain franchise as it’s high time we got a new instalment of the game. The last entry to the series we had was Nosgoth in 2014, which was a spin-off of the Legacy of Kain franchise.
Crystal Dynamics also have a storied history with the Tomb Raider franchise as the main developer from 2006 with Tomb Raider: Legend all the way to Rise of the Tomb Raider in 2015. Now that they have the rights to both IPs, I’m sure we are in store for some great projects to come.
