HBO Max’s Velma Adult Animated Series Gets First Trailer
At New York Comic-Con 2022, HBO Max unveiled the first trailer for their upcoming Velma adult animated series. Co-created by Mindy Kaling and Charlie Grandy, Kaling also voices the iconic Scooby-Doo character Velma Dinkley in a sort of origin story. It was first announced back in February 2021.
They also announced the rest of the ensemble cast, including Constance Wu as Daphne, Glenn Howerton as Fred, and Sam Richardson as Norville AKA Shaggy. They’re joined by recurring stars Stephen Root, Nicole Byers, Weird Al Yankovic, Sarayu Blue, Melissa Fumero, Ken Leung, Jane Lynch, Wanda Sykes, Ming-Na Wen, Shay Mitchell, and Fortune Feimster.
In the trailer, we get a Scream reference or easter egg of sorts as a serial killer calls Velma from inside her house. Check it out below:
Velma is slated to premiere on HBO Max sometime in 2023.
