The MCU’s Blade Actor Is Not Happy With Production So Far
The Blade movie is only about a little more than a year away from release but production is reportedly a troubled one, with Blade himself, Mahershala Ali, allegedly not happy with the movie, including the script apparently only featuring two “lacklustre” action sequences.
This is according to a report from industry insider Jeff Sneider, who tweeted that sources told him that the current Blade script is roughly 90 pages long but with only two action sequences. A 90-page script isn’t that long, especially for a big movie like this, which is worrying.
I’m told that the current BLADE script is roughly 90 pages and features exactly TWO (lackluster) action sequences. Mahershala said to be very frustrated with the process. Feige said to be spread too thin. But hey, that’s just what sources are telling me. Don’t shoot the messenger

In another tweet, Sneider said that Beau DeMayo is working on the script for Blade now. DeMayo is currently working on the X-Men ’97 animated series but he is best known for working on Star Trek Strange New Worlds, Moon Knight, and The Witcher. The current Blade script was written by Stacy Osei-Kuffour.
These reports come shortly after the news broke that Blade director Bassam Tariq left the project just before the movie started production. As such, there is currently no confirmed new director on the project.
Part of MCU Phase 5, Blade is still slated to premiere on 3 November 2023. However, with all these issues, that might change.
