At Kakuchopurei, we love our video game events.
Having experienced world-class shows such as E3, Paris Game Week, GamesCom and Tokyo Game Show first-hand, we always dreamed of bringing a similar experience to our friends back home on multiple occasions.
And let’s face it; local video game events have become stale and boring. Video game events have been watered down to gamers either congregating at a concourse of a shopping mall, or stare at other players competing on an esports stage. We say it is high time to flip the formula and make video games events fun again.
Enter Kakuchopurei’s very own, first-of-its-kind event utilizing public transport spaces: The HypeTrain.
Choo choo, mofos!
HypeTrain is a Kakuchopurei original IP and in the long run, we aim to bring similar events to other train stations, train lines in the Klang Valley (think the Ampang line, or the Kelana Jaya line) and even to outside of Malaysia. The Singapore, Jakarta and Bangkok MRT lines are definitely within our sights.
For one special weekend, 26-27 November, we have partnered with MRT Corp to bring to you a novel way to experience your favourite games.
We have identified four high-traffic MRT stations in the Klang Valley which will host ‘Hype Booths’ where passersby can engage with activities, participate and compete in several video game titles in a much more conducive and meaningful manner.
All of these booths will run simultaneously across four stations, and all participants are not only encouraged to take part in Hype Booths near them but to visit ALL THREE stations to accumulate as many points as possible by taking part in the various activities.
The full list of games featured will be unveiled in the upcoming days, so be sure to stay tuned to our website and other social media accounts. Pre-registrations for The HypeTrain will also commence in the next few days, rewarding early birds with a significant advantage compared to walk-in sign-ins.
