Barbie Teaser Trailer Comes With A 2001 A Space Odyssey Reference

Warner Bros Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Barbie movie. Bizarrely enough, it begins with a scene that seems like a homage to Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 A Space Odyssey of all things, with the iconic Richard Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra playing in the background.

Barbie director Greta Gerwig must have some crazy stuff planned but we don’t get to see much of that yet in the short teaser trailer. Barbie stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell. It premieres in cinemas on 21 July 2023.
