A recent Diablo 4 action RPG livestream showcase introduces a new way for players to power up their equipment: the Codex of Power.

This option gives players a degree of control over what kind of build they’re aiming for. See, each dungeon in the game’s world, Sanctuary, will be housing an Aspect, which is a legendary power you can obtain at the bottom of a specific dungeon. Acquiring an Aspect lets you grant a power onto your weapons and items; different dungeons house different kinds of Aspects.

Plus, they only need to be unlocked once by any class you use; it’ll be available to everyone in your game so you don’t have to unlock it twice or three times. So if you want Overwhelming Bolts for your other classes, you only need to conquer the dungeon housing it once, making subsequent grinding for said other classes easier.

Aspects from the Codex of Power will always roll at the lowest level. You’ll still need to go to different dungeons and find better versions of these Aspects. However, Codex of Power skills will not house Legendary Powers; you’ll have to find these the old-fashion way via killing elite enemies and bosses and pray to the RnG gods.
