My Hero Academia Will Get A Live-Action Netflix Adaptation; Why?
Because the Cowboy Bebop and Death Note Netflix adaptations were so successful, we might be getting another live adaptation of a popular anime series.
A Variety report stated that a live-adaptation version of the hit shonen anime/manga My Hero Academia will be appearing on Netflix. There’s no release date set, but we do know that Legendary Entertainment producers Mary Parent and Alex Garcia will be producing the show.
If you somehow lived through life without knowing what My Hero Academia is, it’s basically X-Men and the Marvel comics superhero universe, but anime. It follows ordinary human Izuku “Deku” Midoriya who somehow gains superhuman powers (called Quirks) and goes to superhero school. The usual shonen stuff happens: rivals, high school girls to simp at, villains aplenty, and a superhero conspiracy going on. It’s pretty fun to watch; the series is available on Netflix right now.
