Grace Esports Win India’s First All-Female VALORANT LAN
By Lewis Larcombe|February 19, 2023|0 Comment
India’s first-ever all-female VALORANT LAN event has crowned its champions, with Grace Esports taking the coveted trophy. The Windows 11 Skyesports Grand Slam 2022, powered by AMD, was held at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on 16 and 17 February, as part of the India Gaming Show initiative.
Grace Esports dominated the two-day tournament, winning both matches in the group stage before defeating Balak Paneer 2-0 in the Grand Finals. The team’s captain, Rose, was confident about their chances but was careful not to be overconfident. She thanked the team’s supporters and sponsor, Kappa, for their help throughout the competition.
Meow16k, a member of Grace Esports, expressed her delight at being a part of the first all-female VALORANT LAN event, thanking Skyesports for organizing the competition and giving them the opportunity to play on stage. The event was held at the JetSynthesys Gaming Arena, and JetSynthesys, the parent company of Skyesports, sponsored the India Gaming Show 2023.
“We were confident [of winning] but we were avoiding overconfidence and we obviously have a lot of people who support us to thank,” said Rose, the team captain of Grace Esports. “We also want to thank Kappa for having our back throughout the tournament.”
“I feel really great,” added Grace Esports’ Meow16k after the win. “First of all, this is the first all-female VALORANT LAN. Thanks to Skyesports for organizing such a great event and bringing a chance for us to play on stage. And yes I am feeling fabulous, first LAN and it’s in our pocket.”
Overall, the event was a huge success, showcasing the talent of India’s female VALORANT players and giving them a platform to compete at the highest level. The organizers, sponsors, and players can all be proud of what they accomplished, and I look forward to seeing more events like this in the future.
