PS5 Sales & Shipments Surpass 32 Million
According to Sony’s financial results for the fiscal year that ended on 31 December 2022, more than 32.1 million units of the PS5 has shipped worldwide. Out of the 32.1 million, a total of 7.1 million PS5 units were shipped during the three months which ended on 31 December 2022.
Other interesting statistics include that there are 46.4 million PS Plus subscribers and 112 million monthly active users on PS Network as of 31 December 2022. In addition, PS5 and PS4 software combined sold 86.5 million units during the three months which ended on 31 December 2022, with 20.8 million units being first-party titles.
Last month at CES 2023, Sony CEO Jim Ryan announced that the PS5 has sold more than 30 million units worldwide. Back in September 2022, the console sold about 25 million units.
He also revealed that December 2022 was the biggest month ever for PlayStation 5 console sales, which is logical considering that it’s the holiday season and the first holiday season to be after the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, good news for those looking for PS5s to buy because Jim Ryan also said that the PS5 will likely be easier to find and purchase starting from January 2023.
