Michelle Yeoh Becomes First Malaysian To Win An Oscar
Michelle Yeoh has made history by becoming the first Malaysian (and Asian woman) to win an Oscar or Academy Award. She won the Best Actress award for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once at the 95th Academy Awards, or Oscars 2023, which took place earlier today on 13 March 2023 at 8am GMT+8.

Earlier this year, Michelle Yeoh also became the first Malaysian to win a Golden Globe Award at the 80th Golden Globe Awards, where she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for the movie, Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022).
