Paper Rex Add Something To Their VALORANT Roster
By Lewis Larcombe|March 22, 2023|0 Comment
Paper Rex, the Singaporean esports organisation, has announced that Ilia “something” Petrov has officially signed with them. The 21-year-old Russian star had previously represented Sengoku Gaming from Japan over the past year, but he will soon be flying to Seoul, South Korea, to join the rest of the Paper Rex team. However, his eligibility to play is subject to approval by Riot Games.
Harley Örvall, Chief Gaming Officer of Paper Rex, told VALO2ASIA that they have been keeping a close eye on Ilia’s recent performances and have been impressed with his exceptional play as a duelist. While they plan to maintain their current roster composition, they will experiment with compositions and give their coach, Alexandre “alecks” Sallé, the option to field the players he thinks are best suited for a certain match-up.
After several reports came out over the past month about the big move between Paper Rex and Sengoku Gaming superstar, it comes as little to no surprise that something has joined Paper Rex. something has been considered one of the brightest prospects emerging from the VCL Japan circuit, and his performance with Sengoku Gaming has been outstanding. He averaged a team-leading 306 ACS over 34 maps in the past three months and dominated across several key statistics in his latest campaign at VCL Japan Split 1.

This move has the potential to bolster Paper Rex’s already massive firepower even further and provide them with an even greater competitive edge over other teams in the Pacific League. For something, joining Paper Rex is a significant step as he will now be playing at his highest level yet in one of the VCT Pacific partnered teams. Meanwhile, Paper Rex is hoping that his arrival will propel the team to new heights as they gear up for their busy schedule ahead, which includes an upcoming appearance in the VCT Pacific League.
