CS:GO Reaches New Heights Again As It Hits 1.8 Million Players

It’s been a wild ride for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive lately. In March, it broke its all-time player count record with over 1.5 million people playing. And now, just a few months later, that record has been smashed again with nearly 1.8 million players logging in to play according to SteamDB.

Some folks might say that these numbers are inflated by bots, but many people are actually playing because of the final CS:GO Major tournament and the cool rewards that come with it.

Starting on 8 May, the Paris Major is the last Major tournament that will be played in CS:GO. Players can participate in the Pick’Em challenge to predict the winners of the tournament and earn rewards for their correct guesses. Plus, there are tons of new cosmetics available, like team logos and player signatures that can be added to your weapons.

If you’re looking for a specific sticker, you might have to hit up the Steam Community Market to find it. And watch out – some stickers are selling for over US$40. But the Paris Major is a big deal because it’s the only Major that will be played this year. Usually, there are two Majors a year, but the next one won’t happen until March 2024 – when Counter-Strike 2 is released.
