Mortal Kombat 2 Movie Adds Adeline Rudolph As Kitana

The cast for the Mortal Kombat 2 movie, the sequel to 2021’s Mortal Kombat, is growing. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adeline Rudolph, who made her acting debut as part of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, has been cast as Kitana.

Rudolph will play Kitana, a character who was first introduced in 1993’s Mortal Kombat II. In the game’s lore, Kitana has a close bond with Jade, a character who will be played by Tati Gabrielle in Mortal Kombat 2. The character was originally known as the daughter of Outworld emperor Shao Kahn until she learns her true father was murdered by Shao Kahn when he conquered Edenia. She then becomes one of the good guys and is also the love interest of Mortal Kombat character Liu Kang.

Besides Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, Adeline Rudolph also starred in CW’s Riverdale and co-starred in Netflix’s Resident Evil series. She is currently filming the female lead in Hellboy The Crooked Man, a new Hellboy movie reboot.

Earlier this month, The Boys actor Karl Urban was cast as the iconic Johnny Cage. Simon McQuoid, who directed 2021’s Mortal Kombat, is returning as the director. There is currently no release date for Mortal Kombat 2.
