Tabletop RPG Pathfinder Is Getting Its First-Ever Action RPG For PC

For players who aren’t fans of Dungeons & Dragons but want an alternative tabletop system, Pathfinder is usually that quality choice. Due to the latter’s popularity, a ton of game companies have made computer RPGs about it.

Now, it’s getting a loot-hoarding title courtesy of BKOM Studios. The studio has announced a co-op hack-and-slash action RPG based on the license called Pathfinder: Abomination Vaults for PC (Steam). No store page is up yet; in fact, the game will be getting a Kickstarter campaign starting May. So it’s more or less a big announcement from the team.

What we do know is that the game is up to four players and it involves fighting abominations summoned by evil sorceress Belcorra Haruvex while adventuring into Gauntlight Keep that’s filled with megadungeons. This is not unlike an action RPG scenario with randomized dungeons & levels. PR blurb below:

“Launching a Kickstarter campaign for Pathfinder: Abomination Vaults gives us the opportunity to share our own excitement and anticipation around the project with the IP’s fans, from the get-go. With Kickstarter, we can directly reach players and supporters, and offer them a chance to bring the game to life with us. And by creating this communication channel with the fans, the campaign is a vehicle that allows us to build an even stronger, deeper, and more meaningful game, which we believe every Pathfinder enthusiast deserves.”

Unlike Wizards of the Coast who owns D&D, Paizo Publishing is very lenient with the Pathfinder license and module when it comes to adaptations. Just ask, and they’re most likely game. Check out the announcement video below:
