STONKS-9800, A ‘City Pop Business Sim’ Coming To Steam Early Access This July

Ternox Games has some exciting news to share! They’re about to drop STONKS-9800, a rad text-based stock market business simulator that takes you right back to 1980s Japan. Get ready to embark on this epic financial journey when it hits Steam Early Access on 17 July. And that’s not all—mark your calendars for the full release in 2024, available on PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
STONKS-9800 is a game that blends the best of visual novels, stock market sims and throws in some retro anime and vaporwave vibes for good measure. It’s like stepping into a time machine and immersing yourself in the economic boom of 80s Japan. But hold up, there’s more to this game than just funky aesthetics. While it’s all about chilling and having a blast, STONKS-9800 also tackles some serious themes. See, the 1980s weren’t all about salaryman culture, city pop tunes, pachinko parlours, and those cozy izakaya bars. It was also the era when “karoshi,” or death by overwork, started to become a concern. So, go ahead and make those big business moves, but don’t forget to take care of your health too. Balance is key, my friends!
Buy stocks, get dividends, monitor the prices;
Your decisions affect the market – and your life;
Keep an eye on your health and do not overwork, lest you end up in the hospital;
Invest in real estate and cars, increasing your level of comfort;
Manage your company, having a controlling interest;
Achieve success as a legal business – or get rich quickly engaging in shady activities;
Play a variety of mini-games, including pachinko and horse racing betting
