It was just announced at Summer Game Fest 2023 that Witchfire, the dark fantasy roguelite first-person shooter, is hitting Early Access for PC via the Epic Games Store on 20 September. The folks over at The Astronauts just made the exciting announcement.

What’s Witchfire about?

Picture yourself in a grimdark fantasy world, where an intense war is raging between powerful witches and the Church. In this twisted reality, witches are not just a myth—they are real and deadly. But fear not, because the Church has its own secret weapon, known as a preyer, or witch hunter. Equipped with an arsenal of mind-blowing guns and forbidden magic, courtesy of the Vatican sorcerers, players take on the role of these preyers. Their mission? To confront the horrifying creatures that lurk in the shadows and fight on behalf of their mysterious benefactors. It’s an epic battle between light and darkness, and you’re in the thick of it!
