Baldur’s Gate 3 Might Already Be This Year’s Biggest PC Game Launches

What do you think will happen when one of the most-cherished CRPG franchises in gaming history gets a sequel 20 years later? Big sales numbers, that’s what.

Baldur’s Gate 3 just released today (after a long Early Access period); it came out about 17 hours ago at this time of writing. It already has massive sales numbers that surpass the likes of Resident Evil 4 Remake and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. On Steam, the game has an overwhelming positive rating with 100,000+ reviews to back up its claim. The CRPG sequel made by Larian Studios is being played by 472,136 players overall.

It is right now the second most-played game right now on Steam and PC, the first being Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Not bad for a debut! Check out the full data here.
