Sifu Gets Final Content Update With New Arenas And Challenges; Launches Early September

If you thought you were done with Sloclap’s awesome beat-em-up Sifu, you’re dead wrong. The developer has announced that their Kung Fu action game, Sifu will receive the final update in early September 2023.

Most of the new content involves Sifu’s Arenas mode, adding six new dynamic Arenas and 75 new challenges to the game. There will also be more cheats and modifiers for players to increase the challenge. Although the announcement trailer didn’t reveal anything much, however, it will also include new film-inspired outfits for players. Expect encounters with zombie-like enemies, doppelgangers, and interactive environments that will challenge your reflexes and strategy.

Sifu puts players in the shoes of a Pak Mei Kung-Fu student who has spent their life training for a day of reckoning after the brutal murder of their entire family by a mysterious assassination squad. With just one day and countless enemies in their way, players must beat insurmountable odds and defeat members of the powerful organization to claim revenge. However, on such a quest for vengeance, time is the price paid. With a magical talisman to revive players after death, defeat doesn’t spell the end. Though the student always gets back, the cost of magic is dear, however, and they will age significantly every time they come back to life.

The final content update Sifu will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Epic Games Store and Steam on 7 September 2023. The Nintendo Switch version will be followed at a later date.

In Kakuchopurei’s Sifu review, we said:

Sifu is definitely the 2022 current-gen spiritual successor to Karateka in plot and design, but with kung-fu, naturally. If you jive with that and its unflinching challenges, go all out with this showdown.”
