MPL Singapore’s Week 1 Smashes Viewship Records

The MPL SG Season 6 kicked off with a bang last weekend! Week 1 of the Regular Season was lit, breaking records left and right. According to Esports Charts, the showdown between Bleed Esports and Homebois SG hit an all-time high with 12,585 viewers watching concurrently. That’s some serious numbers! It’s worth mentioning that this was over 65% higher than the most-watched match in Season 5, which peaked at 7,600 viewers during the Grand Final. Homebois SG and Alchemy SG’s match on Day 1 also outdid last season, pulling in more than 10,500 viewers.

The Zenway Studios esports arena was buzzing with excitement as over a hundred fans showed up to support their favourite teams during Week 1. And guess what? You can snag pre-registration tickets for each week’s action. Keep an eye on MPL SG’s social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, and YouTube for details. The best part? Tickets are up for grabs on a first-come-first-served basis, and they won’t cost you a dime! Plus, attendees have a shot at winning some epic in-game goodies like skins. If you’re itching for match schedules this week, head over to the MPL SG website.

Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the arena, because you can catch all the action online. MPL SG’s official Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok channels are live-streaming every match.

Week 1

Now, let’s talk about the Week 1 results, and boy, there were some surprises! The defending champs, RSG SG, got a reality check with a 1-2 loss against their long-time rivals, Team Flash. Lolsie, the Roamer from Team Flash, stole the show with a jaw-dropping performance, proving himself as the “win condition.” He played like a man on a mission, leaving his former team in the dust.

Meanwhile, the newcomers on the block, Homebois SG, made a splash by winning both their opening matches, including a nail-biting 2-1 victory against Bleed Esports. They’re quickly becoming the dark horse of the season, and everyone’s keeping an eye on them.

Homebois SG’s Gold Laner, Enya, had a chat with MPL SG host Cheryl Yao after their thrilling win over Bleed Esports. They talked about the importance of staying sharp and not getting complacent.

Week 2

Now, looking ahead to Week 2, we’ve got some epic clashes lined up. RSG SG, the champs, will go toe-to-toe with the new kids on the block, Homebois SG, on 16 September. It’s a match that’ll send shockwaves through the league, with their title rivals closely watching.

Day 2 on September 17th promises more thrills as Bleed Esports and RSG MY, the eternal rivals, face off at 10:00 AM. Regardless of RSG MY’s performance the day before, this match is a do-or-die for them to stay in the title race. Later that day, Homebois SG will square off against EVIL, known for their unconventional draft picks. It’s going to be a stern test for this season’s dark horses.

MPL SG, organized by MOONTON Games and Zenway Productions, is Singapore’s premier esports league for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). In Season 6, eight of the best MLBB teams in Singapore will battle it out across four weekends from 9–30 September. They’re competing for a juicy SG$100,000 prize pool and the chance to represent Singapore at the M5 World Championship in the Philippines.

The Regular Season follows a single round-robin format, with all eight teams going head-to-head in Best-of-Three (BO3) matches. Then, from October 20th to 22nd, the Playoffs will kick in with a double elimination tournament format. The top four teams from the Regular Season will be seeded into the Upper Bracket, while the bottom four will start in the Lower Bracket. It’s going to be a wild ride!
