Folks in the 90s should remember famous game designer Peter Molyneux, known for his company Bullfrog and Lionhead Studios and titles like Magic Carpet, Populous, and Theme Park. He has gone on quite an escapade in the past decade with games and pipe dreams like Godus and Curiosity: What’s Inside The Cube?. So it’s no surprise he’s at it again with another “game” idea involving everybody’s favourite scheme: blockchain. Oh, and NFTs too!

The next Peter Molyneux game is called Legacy, and it’s a “highly anticipated web3 business simulation game” based on blockchain technology. It’s slated for October 2023. Here’s the official description from publisher Gala Games.

Players own pieces of land and Legacy Deed Keys that correspond to how rare the land is. Deed keys allow Landowning players to empower F2P players -partners- to win real rewards. Players who want to own land in-game can buy them from, wait for it, NFT marketplace OpenSea with price tags reaching upward to a peak of US$6,000.
