Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Second DLC To Launch This December

The Pokémon Company and developer Game Freak announced the second half of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC called The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk.

The first instalment of the open-world RPG titled The Teal Mask, was released a couple of months ago in September, and the second half is just around the corner. Similar to The Teal Mask, The Indigo Disk will transport trainers from the Paldea region to a distant part of the larger Pokémon world as part of a school / cultural exchange program.

In Part 2: The Indigo Disk, players will be travelling to Blueberry Academy, a sister school of the Niranja Academy (the main Pokémon campus), as an exchange student. The Blueberry Academy will be located on an island right in the middle of the great blue ocean. Moreover, it was also confirmed that The Indigo Disk is also going to introduce brand-new features, areas, and characters. The second DLC will also focus a lot more on aspects like battles and open areas in which players will be able to roam freely.

Aside from the release date for Scarlet and Violet‘s second DLC, it has also been confirmed that four new Pokémons will be introduced in the upcoming half. The Pokémons that are confirmed to be included in the expansion are:

Iron Crown (Steel/Psychic)

The Iron Crown Pokémon possesses steel-type and psychic characteristics. It is known as the paradox form of the legendary creature Cobalion. Players will have the opportunity to encounter this extraordinary Pokémon during a special event.

Terapagos (Normal/Terastal)

Terapagos is a new legendary Pokémon, making its first debut for the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC. Little information has been revealed but what we do know is that it can transform into a massive turtle from a relatively harmless creature, with literally all of the types branded on its shell due to its link with the Terastallize phenomenon.

Archaludon (Steel/Dragon)

Archaludon is the evolution of Duraludon, a tall bipedal dinosaur-like Pokémon with large feet, a chunky tail, and a head integrated into its neck. It has no apparent ties to any legendary creatures but is the evolved version of Sword and Shield‘s Duraludon.

Raging Bolt (Electric/Dragon)

The Raging Bolt is a historic Paradox Pokémon that draws inspiration from Raikou, a recently introduced Electric/Dragon-type Pokémon. It is noteworthy that Raging Bolt is only the second Pokémon in existence to possess this unique combination, with Miraidon being the first within this current generation. The initial sighting of Raging Bolt took place in Area Zero, and its appearance closely resembles a sketch that was previously sketched by a member of the Area Zero Expedition, as documented in the Scarlet Book.

DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk is set to launch on 14 December 2023. The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are now available for the Nintendo Switch.
