Kotex Elimin8tors Forge Path To Excellence: Empowering Women In Esports With MPL Ambitions

The Kotex Elimin8tors esports team, comprised of Nurul Effa Fauzana Fauzi “Fafau,” Siti Sarah Mahadzir, Intan Syafinaz Che Halim, Afrina Balqis Ibdhi Har Ali, and Nurul Ain Salshabilla Nasharudin, is set to make an impact in Malaysia’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang MLBB Professional League (MPL).

Through the “Kotex She Can” program, the team secures an RM100,000 sponsorship to support their comprehensive ecosystem aimed at enhancing gameplay skills and knowledge.

The sponsorship package encompasses various components, including a professional MPL coach, top-tier equipment, a daily intensive training schedule lasting six to eight hours, insights from an analyst, access to a gaming studio, fully furnished hostel accommodations, and a monthly allowance. The team will be guided by the experienced coach Ariff Iswandi “Amoux,” known for successfully leading multiple teams to podium finishes in MPL Malaysia.

Nurul Effa, the team leader and a bronze medallist at the Phnom Penh Sea Games, expressed gratitude for Kotex’s support during the unveiling ceremony at the ESI Hall @ Spacerubix. She emphasized the significance of challenging gender norms in esports, highlighting that Kotex Elimin8tors aims to demonstrate women’s ability to achieve success comparable to men’s teams. Nurul Effa acknowledged the responsibility of being a role model for women esports athletes and stressed the importance of professionalism among team members.

The team leader welcomed the comprehensive support provided by Kotex, expressing confidence in their ability to undergo effective training and compete with men’s teams. Nurul Effa encouraged other major companies to follow Kotex’s example and contribute to the growth of women’s sports.

Regarding the appointment of coach Amoux, Nurul Effa expressed optimism about the team’s improvement under his guidance. She acknowledged Amoux’s experience in coaching successful teams both locally and internationally and looked forward to the learning opportunities he would bring to the Kotex Elimin8tors.
