M5 World Championship – Day 10: Top 3 Teams Confirmed

In the Knockout Stages’ fourth day at the M5 World Championship, both ONIC Esports and AP.Bren secured spots on the podium by defeating their opponents convincingly. The champions from Indonesia and the Philippines will face off on 16 December for a chance to advance to the Grand Finals.

ONIC Esports dominated Deus Vult with a 3-0 victory in Match 7 of the Knockouts, reaffirming their status as tournament favourites. Coming off a morale-boosting 3-2 win against Blacklist International, ONIC remained composed even when DeusVult took an early lead in Game 1. Despite the opponent’s initial success with 6 kills to ONIC’s none, the Indonesian powerhouse executed a well-timed comeback, displaying impressive composure. In Game 2, Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol and his Dyrroth secured a flawless 7/0/8 KDA, leading ONIC to victory in just 17 minutes. Although Deus Vult put up a tougher fight in Game 3, ONIC secured the match point with a “Maniac” from Calvin “CW” Winata.

In the second match of the day, AP.Bren defeated Geek Fam 3-1, earning a spot in the Upper Bracket Finals against ONIC Esports. Despite Manuel “Nnael” Simbolon’s suspension, AP.Bren capitalized on the roster change, winning the first game with Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo contributing to all 19 kills. Geek Fam demonstrated their strategic prowess in the second game, tying the series with a successful backdoor play by Luke “Luke” Valentinus. However, the next two matches favoured the home team, with Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson showcasing exceptional jungling skills, described by Geek Fam as difficult to match up to in the post-match interview.

The action continues on Friday, 15 December with the first match-up being between Geek Fam and Blacklist International in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinal at 2:00 PM GMT+8. Following this will be the other Lower Bracket Quarterfinal between Deus Vult and See You Soon.
