First-Person Shooter The Finals Is One Of Steam’s Most Played Games
By Alisha Alix|December 13, 2023|0 Comment
Within less than a week of its release on Steam, the free-to-play FPS game The Finals has gained immense popularity among players, reaching a remarkable milestone of over 200,000 concurrent players. This remarkable achievement has propelled the game into the ranks of Valve’s top 10 most-played games on the Steam platform.
Based on the SteamDB chart, The Finals is now ranked five and has surpassed heavy hitters such as the popular Apex Legends, hit survival horror Lethal Company, and this year’s Game of The Year winner Baldur’s Gate 3. Since it launched on 8 December, the game has amassed a total of 45,131 reviews rated as “Mostly Positive” on Steam.
Many positive reviews of the game are due to players’ appreciation of its unique concept, where nearly everything in the environment can be destroyed, leading to various interesting ways to play the game. Despite the general praise for The Finals, there is also criticism aimed at Embark Studios for using AI voices for the in-game announcer.
In this latest arena shooter, players can look forward to a visually captivating and immersive gaming experience that boasts several innovative features. These additions include destructibility, mobility, and environmental interactions. Whether it’s the thrill of obliterating structures with explosives or the adrenaline-pumping manoeuvres made possible by a grappling hook, The Finals promises to captivate players with its unique gameplay.
The Finals is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
