Diablo 4 Season 3 Give You Your Own Mechanical Companion
By Xandria Morden|January 17, 2024|0 Comment
It’s about damn time we can go dungeon delving with our own little pet! Diablo 4’s next season is called the Season of the Construct. The focus this time is on the recently resurrected mechanical adversaries (and allies!) created by Zoltun Kulle and his squadron, exploring their impact on the seasonal gameplay this time. The Season of the Construct Battle Pass begins on January 23, 10 a.m. PST and hosts 90 Reward Tiers—28 Free Tiers and 62 Premium Tiers.
We’re expecting quite a bit from this season, so let’s unpack the main deets! Most importantly, we get our own robo pet called “Seneschal”. Our robo pet can do various things including providing you with different buffs, defensive protection and also attacking for you. Here’s the best part! Your pet cannot die, and you do not need to manually activate its skills. You can enhance it using seasonal “tuning stone” drops, combining various effects and it will scale with your own power.
“We wanted to avoid the situation where you basically upgrade to the point where your Seneschal is useless.” – Senior Manager of Game Design Daniel Tanguay.
Season 3 questline will be marked by the unearthing of vaults beneath the dunes of Kehjistan. Within these depths, you will stumble upon an artifact known as “The Loom,” crafted by the returning character Zoltun Kulle, now tainted by the influence of the demon Malphas.
The main seasonal activity introduces “Vaults.” These dungeons are filled with intricate traps surpassing any encountered previously. Moreover, a unique mechanic comes into play: successfully navigating the dungeon without taking damage from these traps results in bonus rewards and better loot upon completion. The main boss here is an unmoving construct that will require you to fight it while dodging traps in the arena.
Leaderboards and ladders are also being introduced this season, featuring a standardized dungeon named The Gauntlet (scheduled for a later release in the season). In this challenge, players will strive to achieve top scores, as everyone contends with the same layout and monster spawns. Various ladders are in the works, including categories such as class-specific, solo, team-based, hardcore, and more.
At World Tier III, Nightmare Vaults unlock. Vault Sigils will drop alongside typical Nightmare Dungeon Sigils, or they can be crafted which will require Pearls of Warding to create. These Vaults function similar to Nightmare Dungeons—however they will have deadly Constructs and Hazards scattered throughout, and the Wardwoven Chests for the savvy wanderer.
This season will add a skill tree respec mode that lets you swap skills before confirming the changes.
Helltides Endure
There will now be persistent Helltide events with five minute breaks in between.
Enhanced Movement with W-A-S-D
Season 3 will also add WASD controls to the game if you want to stick to keyboard and mouse.
Extra Stash Tab
An extra Stash Tab is now available for your adventuring needs. Just head over to any capital city.
The season will also add a new seasonal hub area called The Gatehall with vendors and portals.
There are three new Blessings for Season of the Construct:
The bonuses gained from the five Season Blessings only last until the end of Season of the Construct.
