The New Overlord Anime Movie Set To Premiere In 2024

Fans of Overlord are in for a treat as its upcoming film titled Overlord Movie: The Holy Kingdom is set to premiere this year.

The movie’s release window was announced during a notable New Year’s Day program in Japan, where the voice actors and actresses of the anime series also made their presence known. The list of confirmed voice actors includes Satoshi Hino, who portrays Ainz Ooal Gown, Yumi Hara, who embodies Albedo, and Masayuki Katou as Demiurge.

A teaser trailer featuring the popular character Demiurge wearing a mask was showcased during the program.

It was also revealed that the upcoming Overlord movie will adapt to the Holy Kingdom arc, which unfolds after the conclusion of Season 4 of the anime series and Volume 12 of the original light novels.

According to the synopsis of the Holy Kingdom Arc:

“The Sacred Kingdom has enjoyed a great many years without war thanks to a colossal wall constructed after a historic tragedy. They understand best how fragile peace can be. When the terrible demon Jaldabaoth takes to the field at the head of a united army of monstrous tribes, the Sacred Kingdom’s leaders know their defenses are not enough. With the very existence of the country at stake, the pious have no choice but to seek help wherever they can get it, even if it means breaking taboo and parlaying with the undead king of the Nation of Darkness!”

Overlord Movie: The Holy Kingdom is set to debut in Japan sometime in 2024. In the meantime, Overlord Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
